A Decade of Dessert: Honoring 10 Years of The Spectrum Circle Awards

Updated: Aug 19

At Couture Cakes by Sabrina, every cake tells a story—and for the past nine consecutive years, I’ve had the honor of designing custom desserts for The Spectrum Circle Awards.

Since 2016 (with a brief pause in 2017), I’ve partnered with this extraordinary organization to create cakes that celebrate the brilliance, leadership, and power of women across industries. From sculptural statements to floral masterpieces, each design reflects the spirit of the moment—and the women at the heart of it.

The Spectrum Circle Awards Luncheon celebrates women who are innovators, trailblazers, and powerhouses in business, technology, media, and public service. Each design has been more than a cake—it’s been a centerpiece of creativity and craftsmanship.

🎂 2016 – Bold Beginnings

A dramatic double-cube structure with marble and gold accents…

A sculptural two-tier cube cake featuring a charcoal gray bottom and a white top cube set at an angle. Embellished with gold foil, ornate trim, and the Spectrum Circle Awards logo on the top.

🌼 2018 – Textural Bloom

Inspired by wild gardens and natural movement…

🌸 2019 – Romantic Revival

Delicate florals in soft tones and flowing textures…

A sleek white three-tier cake adorned with vibrant handmade sugar florals—peonies, sweet peas, and roses in warm tones. Displayed next to a framed magazine feature on a round pedestal.

💐 2022 – Classic Cascade

This tiered beauty featured a hand-sculpted floral cascade with peach peonies, purple tulips, and trailing pink cherry blossoms. A true showstopper, it celebrated both strength and softness in full bloom.

A five-tier cake blending floral print, purple sugar ruffles, and ornate copper baroque appliqués. Decorated with lifelike roses and a carved display window surrounded by pearl garlands.

2023 – Modern Simplicity

2024 – Green With Grace

Fresh green tones, sugar roses, and ombré texturing gave this cake a natural, yet modern look—symbolizing growth and renewal.

A bold, five-tier matte green cake with a dramatic ombré ruffle effect at the base, transitioning from dark to light green. Topped and accented with elegant white sugar roses, pearl buds, and vibrant green leaves. Displayed in front of a round gold mirror on a white pedestal stand.

2025 – A Floral Cascade to Remember

A floral-forward design bursting with handcrafted pink peonies, lavender sweet peas, golden-centered blooms, and a garden-inspired cascade across the front. The 10th anniversary cake was both delicate and dramatic—just like the women we were there to honor.

Designing these cakes each year has been one of the great joys of my career. Each cake is a unique expression of artistry and emotion. They not only celebrate achievements but also create lasting memories.

The Heart of Cake Design

Cake design is an art form that goes beyond mere aesthetics. It’s about understanding the essence of the event. I strive to capture the spirit of each celebration in every cake I create. Whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, or a corporate event, I aim to make each cake a reflection of the occasion.

Crafting Unforgettable Experiences

Every cake we create is more than dessert—it’s a statement piece, a story, and a moment of joy. If you're planning a milestone event, gala, or luxury celebration and would like to bring a couture cake to your table, we’d love to connect with you.

I really enjoyed reading about the Spectrum Circle Awards and how they’ve celebrated creativity and hard work over the years. It reminded me how recognition can motivate people to keep improving in their fields. In the same way, in academic circles, many researchers rely on Journal publication support services to refine their work and share it with a wider audience. It’s inspiring to see how both art and academia thrive when people have the right kind of support and encouragement.
